1 cup oil
1 cup butter
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
Cream oil, butter, confectioners’ sugar, white sugar and cream of tartar.
Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well.
Add dry ingredients and mix well.
Put the dough in refrigerator to chill for 1 or 2 hours.
Set oven to 350 degrees. Grease cookie sheet.
Roll dough in one-inch balls, then roll in white sugar.
Place on cookie sheet and press with fork to flatten. Bake 8 to 10
Let set a few minutes before removing from cookie sheet.
Yields: 6 to 7 dozen.
