SOUR CREAM COFFEE CAKE

 

1 cup sugar

1 cup butter, softened

3 eggs

2 cups flour

1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup sour cream

1 cup walnuts, chopped

3/4 cup sugar

2 teaspoons cinnamon

 

Lightly grease an 8 inch X 12 inch pan.

 

In a large bowl, cream together the 1 cup sugar with the butter.  Add the eggs and beat well.

 

Mix in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and sour cream, and stir until just combined.

 

To make the filling, in a small bowl, combine the nuts, 3/4 cup sugar, and cinnamon; mix well.


Pour 1/2 of the batter into the prepared pan, then sprinkle on 3/4 of the filling.  Pour the remaining batter on top and sprinkle the remaining filling on top.

 

Bake 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until tests done.
